Film
Finding Mr. & Mrs. Right: Dubai Style, directed by Hind Al Hammadi and Elham Sharaf, is an off-beat documentary about the trials and tribulations of Dubai’s new generation as they search for the perfect match. Caught between their traditions and their desire for a new “freedom”, they share their thoughts on topics such as family expectations and the characteristics of their ideal partner.

The film was selected by Abu Dhabi Film Commission to participate in the Short Film Corner at the Cannes Films Festival. It has also been chosen by as one of the Top 20 Film Picks at the Dubai International Film Festival 2009 out of over 200 films available for viewing by international industry film professionals.

Graphic Design
Applied Communications students participated in the international competition: Designing Water’s Future- Blue Day in Melbourne, Australia and received an Honorable Mention in the INDEX: AIGA Aspen Design Challenge: Designing Water’s Future. The challenge was to use news, stories, facts, and personal experience to develop action-based design solutions that will raise awareness of the emerging global water crisis.
